Oswego, IL is a rapidly growing southwest suburban community, approximately 50 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Home to approximately 36,000 residents, Oswego is located primarily in Kendall County, with portions extending into Will County. Known for its newer residential developments, highly regarded schools, and strong sense of community, Oswego offers a family-friendly atmosphere with a blend of suburban convenience, parks, and scenic outdoor spaces. 

Residents enjoy Prairie Point Community Park, Hudson Crossing Park, and nearby riverfront recreation. Annual events such as PrairieFest, farmers markets, and holiday celebrations bring the community together year-round. 

The community is served primarily by highly regarded District 308, one of the fastest growing districts in Illinois. Well-known neighborhoods include Southbury, Churchill Club, Grande Park, and Lakeview Estates. Detached single-family homes typically sell in the mid-$400,000 range, with an average sales price in Oswego of $482,963 (April 2026).

Oswego does not have its own Metra station, but is the site of a planned future station as part of the BNSF line extension to Kendall County. Commuters currently use the nearby Aurora station and Route 59 station
